Most of the Afgooye district population is poor agro-pastoralists who could not afford modern agricultural techniques due to inadequate knowledge and lack of access to agricultural inputs, tools.
On October HINNA started implementing a project which intended to boost rural women’s productivity and generate gains in agricultural output, food security, economic growth and social welfare.
The project duration will be one year and every two months, HINNA will conduct Agricultural support workshop for the beneficiaries to enhance their techniques of crop production randomly, also, will provide farm Tools, seasonal seeds for crop production, vegetable seeds, irrigation pumps to share as a group of farmers, start up fuel, so that to ensure affective change in the crop production to enhance their livelihood status.
The project focusing on the gender streaming as the92 targeted households or 552 persons is 70% women and 30% men at Afgooye districts, Lower Shabelle region of Somalia.
