Health & Nutrition

Health Services

Our Health and Nutrition programs are designed to address the critical healthcare needs of Somalia's most vulnerable populations, particularly women, children, and those affected by displacement. In a country where access to healthcare remains a significant challenge.
HINNA operates three major health centers in Banadir IDP camps, offering comprehensive services such as maternal care (including antenatal care, safe deliveries, and postnatal care), vaccinations, and health awareness campaigns that focus on both emergency interventions and long-term health improvements, as well as treatment for illnesses malaria, pneumonia, and diarrhea, which are prevalent in IDP camps and rural areas. Mental health support is another critical aspect of our healthcare services, where psychosocial counseling is provided to survivors of trauma, particularly those affected by conflict and displacement.

Nutrition Services

Malnutrition is a widespread issue in Somalia, especially among children and pregnant women. Our Nutrition program addresses this by providing targeted feeding programs for malnourished children under five years of age and pregnant or lactating women. We work in collaboration with local health workers to identify and treat cases of severe and moderate malnutrition. Through community-based management of acute malnutrition (CMAM), our teams provide therapeutic feeding and nutritional supplements, along with education on proper infant and young child feeding practices. We also implements nutrition-sensitive programs that integrate agricultural training to improve food production and dietary diversity, helping families build long-term resilience against food insecurity.
