Following on reports on AWD outbreak in Banadir region in various camps,
HINNA conducted a rapid assessment as to identify the most needed vulnerable.
On 3rd September 2015, HINNA identified the most vulnerable camps perceived
AWD cases. After that, HINNA distributed emergency NFIs for the most 500 HH.
The distribution occurred two days from 14th -15th September 2015 which took place two
well safe locations in Daynile and Wadajir districts. Iskashi centre was distribution
point for the first day where Hared and Harqaboobe beneficiaries has full access
without protection needs and Koorsan has peaceful center inside their camps. Both the
two days distribution the local authorities were there to make the distribution
occur smoothly . All beneficiaries received their items with happily.
The main results of the distribution are the following:
- Improved water quality
- Reduced outbreak diseases
- Improved water storages
- Improved environmental health status
- Improved hygiene situations
